The 2016 Namibian Annual Music Awards is set to expose Namibian artist to a record 400 million viewers across Africa and the world.

The NAMAs 2016 is here, making a welcome return to the city of Windhoek after 2 years in Swakopmund. We welcome the NAMAs back in the city where it all started in 2011, and we are ready to quench the thirst of the entertainment industry by producing a stellar show.

LOOK AND FEEL/TECHNICAL:

The Namibian Annual Music Awards was again produced by the world class and leading Pan African Music Entertainment group the Rockstar Group under their RockstarTV company and brand, who once again took the show to a record breaking national, Pan African and global audience and yet another trademark worldclass cutting edge production, RockstarTV are so well known for.

NAMA Executive Chairman Tim Ekandjo explains that the NAMA audience has so much to look forward to this year. To ensure a truly explosive 6th edition of #NAMA2016, the Namibian Annual Music Awards 2016 will be ignited by a myriad of pyrotechnics during the main show including flame guns, flame explosions, confetti guns, pyrotechnic jet sparks and fountains that will amaze our audience and make our artist feel like the diamonds we want them to be.

#NAMA2016 will feature once again one of the biggest rigs in NAMA history, measuring over 50m wide by 10m high, backed with a giant high resolution specially imported projection surfaces and 3 high resolution high lumens projectors, a further 2 high impact projectors to map a feature set piece supported by a further 3 high lumens projectors for additional projection surfaces.

To power the show, a few thousand kilometers of cable have been laid down. Over 500-flight case boxes have been used to transport equipment such as show lights, electronic desks, lights, cameras and tripods. A full state of the art HD OB Van and Satellite Uplink Facilities are set up with over 10 HD cameras are used to shoot the show with a myriad of TV screens having been installed backstage, on the Blue Carpet and Across dressing room areas. For the first time, the NAMAs will be broadcast in High Definition to give our TV audience across the world the same quality broadcast experience they would get from any international award show in the world.

PRODUCTION TEAM:

A production crew of over 300 people worked behind the scenes to bring the entire production together, made up 90 percent from Namibia’s best and the balance from the best specialists in live music awards production entertainment from South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Angola, Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Both the Friday Industry Awards and the main show are streamed live across the world taking the NAMAs to the footsteps of any interested viewer in the world. “After 5 years of hosting the awards, we now want to market the NAMAs across Africa and the world to give our artist the much needed exposure, but also to expose Namibia as a tourist destination to the rest of the world, said Ekandjo.
